Chewonki Visit in 2-P!

We wish you could have seen the faces of your children as they viewed the Chewonki Foundation’s Bugmobile on Thursday morning! Seeing the hissing cockroaches, African millipede, giant walking stick and the tarantula were a special treat. Our presenter told us about the five different kinds of Arthropods with great expertise. She taught the children characteristics of each group and even had a couple of students dress up as a crustacean and as an insect to emphasize this learning. The students asked very relevant questions that showed deep thought about their subject. We were very proud of their attention and thinking!  Many thanks to the families who helped us fund this program, as well as the PTA, who generously paid for the bulk of this visit.
