After much research on the blue jay, we took notes on its beak, feet, habitat, feeding and nesting habits, and special features. Students used their notes to draft reports. Then we spent time revising, conferencing and editing our reports before writing final drafts. Each student also completed multiple drawings of a blue jay, striving to create a realistic depiction of this bird. Our pop-up books are in the hall outside our classroom, but pictures are below for you to see!
