Author & Editor, Kate Egan, Visits 2-P!

This morning was an exciting one as local author and editor, Kate Egan, joined our classroom for a visit.  After reading Kate and Nate are Running Late and the soon-to-be-released, The Vanishing Coin, our second graders had a lot of questions for Kate about her story ideas, her writing process and how she created her finished book.  We enjoyed the chance to find out how a real author works, how she makes her decisions, and how she collaborates with the editor, illustrator and publisher too.  We were thrilled to send her home with letters we had written to her about The Vanishing Coin.  Kate even gave us  a sneak peak at the second book in the series, The Incredible Twisting Arm.  Below are some pictures of our special visit.
