Measuring Area

This past week we continued our practice with area.  Students helped each other trace their hand and footprints.  Then we counted the surface inside, in centimeters, to see how many square centimeters were covered.  Students are getting good at deciding if enough of a block is included in the tracing to count it as a full or half centimeter.
