Bird Gallery Walk

On Monday kids returned from library to find our “Bird Gallery Walk,” complete with nests, feathers, eggs, posters, photographs, books and a live web-cam of a red-tailed hawk.  Students used a note catcher to gather observations, sketches and questions.  The purpose of a gallery walk is to build enthusiasm for learning.  It was great to watch students walking around with their clipboards, sketching what they saw, recording questions about the various artifacts, observing the web-cam activity, and making observations about nests, feathers and bird photographs.
