The letter below was sent home with your child in their report card envelope on the last day of school. It includes a supply list as well. Hope you are having a great summer!

Dear New Families,

Hi!  I will be your child’s second grade teacher next year.  Yesterday was Step-Up Day at WCS and I met with next year’s class for a while.  The kids got to see their new room and I answered some of their questions.  We had a great time together and I look forward to an exciting and productive year with your child.

Below is a suggested list of supplies that would be helpful for students to have in the fall.   I will send home a letter in August with these same details and you can check out the second grade link on the Woolwich Central School web site as well.  You can often find many great deals on these items over the summer once the sales begin.  If this is a financial hardship for your family please just let me know as I always get some extras at the summer sales.  On that same note, if you are willing to donate any extra items for back-up supplies we would greatly appreciate that.

*pencils (3 or 4 boxes) *2 glue sticks *scissors

*1 yellow highlighter *crayons, colored pencils

*a durable, plastic 2-pocket folder to be the  “Take-Home Folder “ 

*a pack or two of cap erasers * small pencil box

*a water bottle that is spill-proof *1 box of tissues

*hard-cover  3-ring binder, 1 and 1/2 inches (for portfolio of work)

*2 pocket folders, 1 red, 1 blue, (no fasteners needed)

*ear buds (for use with our i-pads)

I hope that you have a wonderful summer.  Students who complete and return the summer math packet will receive a prize from the PTA.  Daily reading over the summer is strongly encouraged to prevent summer reading loss.  See you in the fall!
