The Chewonki “Owls of Maine” presentation on Thursday was an outstanding learning experience for both classrooms. Our instructor was chock-full of fabulous information that the kids soaked right up. Getting to handle specimens carefully prepared by the Chewonki naturalist is a true hands-on experience. Then, we were fortunate to see THREE live owls; a barred owl, a great horned owl and a saw-whet owl. The kids were riveted by the whole experience and impressed our visitor with all the information they already knew on this topic. Thank you to our generous PTA for funding this great learning experience.
