Inquiry Lessons on Design

This week we kicked off our Bird Expedition with a lot of engaging, hands-on activities.  First we worked in inquiry centers on DESIGN.  We investigated the design of a variety of water bottles and chairs, plus mittens and gloves, in order to analyze the materials, size, shape and special features that make them effective.  This focus on design is purposeful in preparing us for our bird expedition, where we will study the design of birds in depth; specifically how their anatomy helps them thrive and adapt to their surroundings.
