Beaching it at WCS State Park!

I have to give a lot of credit to the kids for handling the disappointment of the cancelled beach trip so well.  Mother Nature just wasn't on our side today.

We decided to have a fun indoor beach day instead.  Michael's mom set up the beach umbrella, we spread out our towels and began with some fun i-pad games.  Then during snack we got to hear some great stories on Tumblebooks.  Afterwards we did an indoor scavenger hunt and finished the morning up with clay creations, painting, building toys and fun.  In the afternoon we had a special music class and got to watch Finding Nemo in the forum with our other second grade friends.  One student exclaimed mid-morning, "This is EVEN better than a beach day."  Ah, the resiliency of kids and their great perspective- that's why I love my job.
