Highlights of the Week

Students use a list of brainstormed question words to ask questions in reading workshop as we read quality literature aloud.

Mrs. Devin celebrated a year of Visual Arts Strategies work by showing the kids ALL of the paintings they have observed and reflected on.

During research sessions students left me notes if they needed a conference - they let me know what information they needed help finding!

A sample of note taking on individual bird choices.  Each child chose a bird of interest to study all week.

This student works on a rough draft using his notes.

This student uses an iPad to see a photo of her bird, the osprey.  It helped her draw a realistic picture for her report.

In reading workshop we read books and practiced asking questions to further our understanding.
