Highlights of the Week

In music we used THREE instruments to play rhythms.  Mrs. Pols was SUPER impressed when she listened to us play.

These writing partners share the introductory book in their fiction series with each other.

One of the joys of our morning meeting is hearing about each other's lives.  Classmates gather around a very brave student as she tells her morning share.

We had fun making our own turkeys to decorate the hallway.

In reading workshop we reviewed comprehension strategies such as naming story elements with a map.

We had a great time doing oil pastels drawings on our placemats.

Eating together at our annual Thanksgiving feast is always fun!

Our Scholastic News issue this week…..

taught us a lot about smart beavers.

After hearing the final Global Read Aloud students voted on their favorite one.

On Thursday we bid farewell to our mealworms and beetles at our "Beetle Freedom" Event.

A student sample from our new fiction writing unit

Students planned their characters, settings and possible adventures before writing.

Students are devouring picture books as they read and record for National Picture Book month.
