Highlights of the Week

We decorated our door for the school-wide contest  The judges come on Monday to choose "the best."  We are going to sing our WCS song to them when they show up.  The kids brainstormed and planned ideas, decorated paw prints, selected pictures of us showing the traits of the Woolwich Way and used LOTS of tape.  Great teamwork!

Another fun PE class with Mrs. Harrington.

Partnerships took to the hallway to test out their catapults since the ping pong balls were getting some good distance.

This team measures how far their ping pong ball went to record the data in their lab report.

The forum was another good space to fling and measure!

Getting ready to launch the catapult

Our decorated door

We read about two birds - the atlantic puffin and the penguin.  We compared them to each other in a follow up comprehension activity.

The first page of a lab report always includes our question and hypothesis.

Next up is the materials page

Students have to outline their specific procedures before they start the experiment.

Each scientist includes a data table, a conclusion and a diagram of the experiment.
