Data Collection Days

Last week we spent several days collecting, sorting and analyzing sets of data.  First we worked in teams of 3 to measure our arm span lengths in centimeters and inches.  Then, another day, we took turns doing standing long jumps and recorded the length of our jumps in both centimeters and inches.  After collecting the data we made graphs, frequency tables and line plots.  We also sequenced the data to find the middle or median values.  It was a fun way to work on measuring and analyzing information.
