Big Idea

In reading workshop we continued to hone our ability to name the big idea in a piece of literature.  Such smart and rich discussions!  On Friday we read Old Henry, by Joan Blos, a book about a community who doesn't fully accept a new member who keeps his house less tidy than they'd like.  After reading students were able to identify many themes in the story:
