Building 3-D Pyramids

On Monday our first class of the new year was a fun exploration session to build 3-dimensional pyramids out of straws and twist ties.  We are learning words like apex, base, face, side and edge and using them as we talk about a variety of 3-D shapes.  In Unit 5 students identified many 3-D shapes all around them in the real world!
