As we finished our last lab report in writing workshop we transitioned back into All About Books, which is where we began our informational writing unit. To capitalize on our new-found knowledge of force and motion, we asked each child to choose a topic that relates to motion. We had a wide variety of topics such as skiing, jumping on trampolines, football, skateboarding and soccer. We began by choosing sub-topics to include in our book and planned these out on our Table of Contents. Our next step was drafting each page with detailed information! Students are enjoying the chance to create a book about a topic that’s important to them.
