In math we completed our measurement unit, with more practice in the concepts of area and perimeter. We have added lots of new vocabulary in this unit with particular units of measurement (ounces, pounds, grams, kilograms, etc). Students have enjoyed looking at food products to find the units of measurement on the label. We used spring scales and the balance to explore weight as well. Lots of hands-on experience was helpful for us to understand what a pound and an ounce each feel like.
