Poetry

In writing workshop our poetry lessons have focused on strategies for showing our feelings toward topics as we write.  This includes using precise details and words.  We also explored that poets can write in different voices and from different perspectives.  We are learning to reread our poems to see if they get our message across and sound right.  Students were thrilled to publish and illustrate one of their favorite poems from the last few weeks.
