Highlights of the "Week" - or 3 days (2 Snow/Ice Days in One week in March!)

This student takes his turn at the standing long jump during math.

Our young measurers swoop in to measure the length of the jumps, in both centimeters and inches.

Mrs. Fisher came down from middle school to read us a Chickadee Book!

Students looked through common texts in their inquiry groups.  This team is studying the stagecoach as a form of early transportation.

Another team researches early boats/ships.

This team is investigating and taking notes on trains.

After collecting our jump data we found the range of our data set and created line plots.

We also collected data on our arm span measurements . Then we made a frequency table and another line plot to share our information.

In the week that should have been like spring but was certainly not, we read about how birds are built to handle themselves in all sorts of spring weather.

A very special Chickadee reader visited on Thursday afternoon - Emma Harrington, former second grader in Mrs. Pols's class (now a senior at Morse!) and daughter to our very own Mr. and Mrs. Harrington, came to read to us and answered our important questions about school, sports and good friends.  The kids were delighted!
