Highlights of the Week

Mrs. Devin put our glazed caterpillars in the display case.  We are so proud!

To learn about the need for standard measure we tried to measure our classroom  in "kids."

Then we used a standard measure, the yard stick!

Students used tape measures to measure the height of various objects in the room.

Several reading groups enjoyed a book about the Iditarod, an exciting topic!

Mr. Beeton was our guest Chickadee reader on Tuesday!

In PE on Tuesday we had some serious fun with hula hoops.

On Wednesday Mrs. Babcock read us the Chickadee book!

Students read and wrote about learning surrounding early road conditions for settlers long ago.

Mr. Libby read Chickadee nominee, Blizzard, to both second grades on Thursday.

Students measure the width of our door.

The cutest leprechauns ever!

Enjoying a little sunshine outside

Measuring our arm spans in teams

We also measured around our heads.

Partners measured each others' heights.

We kept good records of our measurements.

Student art work after hearing a Chickadee nominee book of poems.

Students read and gained knowledge about transportation and early settlers' lives.

This week's Chickadee books.

Students recorded information and ratings for each book they heard.
