We read passages about insects and looked back to the text to find answers and information. |
Our Scholastic News was about the vampire bat. Students got more practice going back to the text to find proof or evidence to answer questions. |

On Friday we labeled pictures of our class mealworm culture (can you spot apple pieces, mealworms, shed skin, and beetles?!). |
During writing workshop we practiced the above strategies for using strong words as we write narratives. |

As we began unit 3 we practiced explaining our thinking about addition strategies through diagrams. A follow-up activity had us adding written explanations as well. |
