Highlights of Last TWO Weeks

Sorry for the late blog post.  My kids' spring sports and concert schedule has been packed and there hasn't been a second to sit down and load pictures.  Better late than never!

We sorted birds into their three main groups, plant/seed eaters, water birds and birds of prey.

We are able to use the interactive white board to watch short bird videos and live web cams.

This student is working on accurate blue jay coloring after taking notes about the blue jay's features.

Students explored ways to split shapes into equal parts.

We have been loving some extra recess in the sunshine!

What's nicer than coming to the library to pick up your class and seeing this?!!!

Kathleen from Friends of Merrymeeting Bay visited us on Monday. She talked to us about bird adaptations that help them survive and thrive.

On Tuesday afternoon we had a visit from Lifeflight.

This is a sample of the graphic organizer we use to take notes on the birds we are studying.

Presenting chicken eggs from home for us to look at!

We worked from a research packet on owls for three days as we read, took notes and learned all about owls.
