Highlights of the Week

Mr. John talked to us about lobster facts.

We learned about buoys and how lobster traps worked.

These kiddos are working at the lobster co-op, selling fuel and bait.

We found out pulling traps in is hard work!

Students had to measure the lobsters in the traps to see if they were big enough to keep.

A successful lobster woman makes her way back to the co-op!

The warden gets ready to check the size of the lobsters.

We enjoyed some play time on the pirate ship.

Resting in the bottom of the pirate ship bunk.

We did some work too!  Students used centimeter cubes to tile shapes.

This work was the foundation of the concept of area.

Second graders worked in pairs to discuss and chart their thinking about a fairy tale we had read.

Mrs. Pols brought in a castle with dragons and knights - perfect for indoor recess.

After using cubes and blocks, we practiced partitioning a  rectangle with our pattern block temple.

We also investigated 3-D shapes and how they are like everyday items.

We took advantage of the improved weather anytime we could this week.  The sun felt good!
