Highlights of the Week

Exploring the map of Woolwich

Checking out another version of the map of Woolwich

Giant photograph of the Woolwich area

Mr. John teaches us about cargo and early transportation on ships.

Kids working together to build a ship puzzle at the museum Tuesday

Getting a chance to try some of the work sailors had to do....

Learning about jobs on a ship

Our chaperones were mighty strong!

It was NOT easy work!

Getting ready to bring the cargo through the river channel

It wasn't easy navigating the waters full of buoys, divers, other boats and special markers.  Plus lobsters!

Mrs. Keefe read us a beautiful Chickadee story on Tuesday.

A special visit in Guidance Thursday helped us learn about our  personal space bubbles.

One of Mrs. Pols's former second graders, home on spring break from college, came to spend time with us and help us out!

Kids worked together to do two scavenger hunts with the Woolwich map.

We used the big map to help us find things like Nequasset Lake, Nequasset Road and the road we live on.

We noted different landmarks or waterways with different colors to help us find them again.

Students found the Sagadahoc Bridge and the surrounding towns.

In math we measured classroom objects and found the differences between the size of pairs of items.

Mrs. Babcock read our Chickadee book on Thursday!

Here is a look at our Chickadee booklet where we record the Big Idea, our favorite part and a rating score!

Inside recess Friday meant time for pattern block creations

We are writing book letter recommendations during workshop time.

We are learning to write about books we LOVE and want to recommend.

Before writing we plan our thinking with this organizer - we capture our opinions and details to support them.
