Revising like Master Authors

Over the last few writing workshop sessions we have been trying our hand at using master authors' "craft moves" as we revise our own writing.  One technique Jane Yolen uses is to describe her settings carefully as she writes.  Students learned that they could go back into their writing to find a good place to add setting descriptions - and we used STICKY NOTES to do this.  Second graders love to use sticky notes.  So does Mrs. Pols!  Some examples are below.  Our writing workshops are bursting with excitement - these young authors are growing as writers every single day!
