Choosing Our Best Pieces to Fancy Up!

     Today in writing workshop, as we got first quarter portfolios ready for our families, we had some important thinking to do.  Our job was to read through the writing in our folder to choose our best two or three pieces from the quarter.  We had 3 big questions in mind as we evaluated our work:

1.  Which pieces did we really CARE about the most?
2.  Which pieces did we really feel others should READ?
3.  Which pieces have some good examples of using the CRAFT MOVES we've learned?

Students made their selections and we will spend the rest of the week getting their choices a bit more polished.  We will have a mini celebration of all our authors with the other second grade class soon!
