Highlights of the Week

In math we used cubes and blocks to partition shapes into equal parts.

On Monday author Wendy Ulmer visited our K-5 s students!

Wendy taught us a song and dance about numbers.

Ms. Luchies and Wendy showed us the differences between the painting for the book and the final copy in the book.

We wrote a poem with Wendy about popcorn.

Wendy shared drafts of her writing with us.

In math we worked on equal groups and multiplication.

Students got to pick a bookmark made by prior students. This is the final project each class does in this bird unit.

During our Gallery Walk students examined artifacts related to birds.

We had lots of nests and eggs to observe.

We had two live bird cams running so students could see an osprey and hawk nest in real time.

Students captured their observations on a note catcher.

We used unifix cubes in math to build arrays and write multiplication number sentences.

We learned that foods don't have to look "perfect" for us to eat them.

Students practice math facts.

Playing array concentration

Student poetry

We designed covers to our personal poem anthologies.
