Highlights of the Week

We were so busy this week that I didn't take as many pictures as usual!
We are loving the warmer weather to get out for morning recess - kickball is a big deal these days!

Working on careful blue jay drawings with step by step drawing guides

Students experimented with different drawing guides to help them draw their blue jay as realistically as they could. Much concentration!

Our beak tool helped us analyze the type of beak the blue jay has.

Working on the rough draft of the blue jay report.  To her left is the graphic organizer where we took notes about a blue jay's feet, beak, food, habitat, feathers, size, nesting habits and other interesting facts!

Final pop up project!

Busy second graders learning to make their pop up and working at various parts in the research process

On Wednesday we had a Morse freshmen join us for MHS's annual 9th grade community service day.  She gave great pushes on the merry go round.  And she was once in Mrs. Pols's second grade herself!
