As part of our continued work on measurement in math we have worked on the skills of figuring out area and perimeter. In one activity students had the chance to trace boxes and measure the perimeter of the traced shape. They also were able to practice counting the area of a traced surface using centimeter and inch grid paper. Kids frequently mix up these two concepts, particularly when they are first learning about them. We will continue to review and practice these skills for the remainder of the year to help solidify student understanding.
