Highlights of the Week

A classmate shares her super cool photos of a trip to a bear den!

Our first Chickadee booklet, read by Mrs. Pols on Monday to kick off two weeks of Chickadee booklets.  We wrote about it and rated it in our Chickadee booklet and also used it to think about how the main character responded to challenges in the story.

Inside recess after a surprise power outage on Monday?  Build a marble tower!

Mrs. Strez read us a musical chickadee book on Wednesday and we played drums just like the main character .

Mrs. Harrington set up another super fun game for us in PE.

On Thursday Mrs. Plummer was our Chickadee reader!

As we tackled a new learning target in reading workshop we used this anchor chart to record our thinking.

During writing workshop students came to this chart often to help them remember what else they could write about in their book recommendation letters.

These two books helped us gain background knowledge about transportation changes over time.

On Friday Ms. Luchies read us our fourth chickadee book of the week.

We loved our Scholastic News about just how you can go about finding a four leaf clover.

Students worked with partners to record facts from their reading.

Book letters to friends in our class are becoming very popular and so detailed!

We wrote to author Kate Egan about her Magic Shop Series.  She surprised us by send a copy of her new Flat Stanley book for each of us to have.  We were pretty excited and grateful for that!
