Highlights of the Week

In our Scientist's Notebooks we answered the question, "What do mealworms and other insects NEED to survive?"

On Friday we learned how to log in to our chrome books and we listened to Tumblebooks (stories) and played math games also.

Students played "Fishing For 10."

"Fishing For 10" requires kids to make combinations of 10.  It's a fun way for kids to master their 10s combinations.

Enjoying some DEAR time (DEAR=Drop Everything and READ!).

These students partnered up to practice their addition facts.

Writing partners shared their story ideas to rehearse and plan their narrative writing.

We sorted creatures into INSECT or NOT an INSECT categories.

This is our class culture of mealworms.  Students have  their own mealworms to care for but we will also watch and observe the class culture.

This young scientist is looking at her mealworms.

As a class we brainstormed the needs of living creatures.
