Examining Jane Yolen's Magical Writing

On Friday we met with our writing partners to carefully examine how Jane Yolen crafted just one page in her book, Owl Moon.  We used highlighters to mark phrases that caught our attention and then used our pencils to explain our thinking.  Our whole class agrees that Jane Yolen certainly knows how to use details to put her reader "in the moment."
