Rocket Math is Underway!

Last week we began Rocket Math, a program designed to help students master their math facts.  We started with an exercise to measure each child's writing speed; this helps me find an appropriate goal for them to reach each day.  We will start with addition and each child will progress through the program at their own individual rate.  Every day we will spend time practicing facts orally with a partner and then we will do a one minute timed practice session.  Students move up a level once they have reached or surpassed their goal two times.  Below students are coloring in the rockets on their folders!
