Week 3 Highlights!

We played Fishing for 10 in math to practice combos of 10.
Our Scholastic News was about our favorite author, Mo Willems!  He told us "Don't Give Up" when you are writing and shared his tips for great stories.

We got to make Piggie and Elephant dialogue!

This anchor chart helped us with our reading workshop goal that focused on talking about major story elements.

Beautiful Friday afternoon weather for some recess fun!

And some soccer!

We read one of Mrs. Pols's favorite stories, Stanley's Party, about a dog who decides to have some fun when his owners go out.  Then we did story maps to practice our ability to identify story elements.  We worked hard to show quality work!

Writing folder organization!

We got a special tool for helping us write strong leads to our narratives.

We are learning to stretch out a moment with details!

Some insect work from our scientist's notebook

We are drawing our mealworms each week to record changes.

Part of our weekly spelling program includes learning to proofread and edit for spelling and other errors.

We explored our math reference books during math class.

More math game fun!
