Mrs. Morin and her husband made us 5 new ramps so we tested them out at indoor recess on Monday!
We went back to the gym with our revised car/ramp experiment. Each group made one change to try to get better distance coming off the ramp.
We found that we had to do a lot of math this time around as our cars went pretty far!
This group was using two measuring tapes to get an accurate count.
Prepping for the first trial with the new ramp!
Students worked on retelling this week and each child made a video of themselves retelling a favorite fiction book. We used FlipGrid to do this and they loved it! I loved watching the videos!
In music we listened to some Sound of Music songs and made puppet goatheads.
These two love to practice with these snazzy word cards full of various vowel teams.
Lots of time and creativity went into making our valentine holders
On blue/purple day we had yummy grapes and cups of yogurt and blueberries!
Students are using a genre wheel to track their reading during DEAR time. Lots of kids are branching out and trying new genres, which is great!
Here is an example of our lab reports booklets:
We detail the materials we will use.
We create a question and a hypothesis.
We keep track of our data on a table.
We plan out step by step procedures before we start.
We share our findings and draw a diagram!
On Friday we had our first lesson on partial sums algorithm. The kids were champs!
The castle on indoor recess is always a big hit!
And the kids like to borrow the speed stackers from Mr. Hutchings too!
Valentine parfaits were yummy - thanks parents!
