Weekly News for 2-P 6-13-24
*June 17th - Last Day - noon dismissal
*After last week’s success as detectives, we did another “Math Mystery,” solving math problems that unlocked riddles and clues to help us plug our way through “The Case of the Sticky Bank Burglary” puzzle. We had a case to solve and each day we did review work that revealed a code to solve the mystery. Our review work was focused on money this time and kept us on our toes all week.
*Thanks for coming to our “Bird Showcase.” We loved the chance to show off our hard work. Students really stepped up into this high level series of projects.
*In phonics we worked on the suffixes -ible, -able, -ment and prefixes bi-, tri-, uni-. These multisyllable words were a lot harder to spell and gave us a good challenge.
*In Social Studies we did more mapping work and also continued our unit on economics, working on natural resources, producers and consumers.
*Students have a ziploc bag with report cards, their memory book, their bird bookmarks, Father’s Day coupons and the summer math packet - this can be returned for a prize in the fall.
*Thanks for your support all year long and for sharing your wonderful children with me. I enjoyed every minute! It will be my pleasure to watch them grow up in the halls of WCS!
